One Body Physical Therapy, PLLC

TRAINING

I am honored to live, work, play, care for and be cared for by the traditional land of the sx̌ʷəbabš or Swift Water People. I began my career across the water, in what is now commonly called Seattle. I started in 1994 working in subacute rehab, followed by 5 years at Harborview Medical Center. My first 4 years at HMC, I worked in the inpatient and outpatient neuro/trauma rehabilitation programs; my final year there began my transition to outpatient orthopedic physical therapy. I then had the fortune of training with Carrie Hall, PT at Movement Systems Physical Therapy. I gradually built up my own private practice on an island located in the Coast Salish ancestral lands with the colonized name Vashon Island and have been providing PT services here since 2001. My extensive study and certification with the Postural Restoration Institute in 2015, transformed the way I perceive human movement.

Throughout my career, I have embraced non-western healing modalities, such as Jin Shin Do Acupressure and Mind-Body Medicine. I have extensively studied the human trauma response, the neurophysiology of trauma and somatic modalities. A life long learner, you will see other areas of PT training reflected below in the interventions and techniques I utilize in sessions.
